Chemicals for wastewater treatment

Chemicals for wastewater treatment

Chemicals for treatment of wastewater are used for municipal water purification and municipal waste (sludge thickening), and purification of industrial wastewater. This type of chemicals include chemicals used for treatment, purification and processing of process water. Waste water (municipal or industrial) prior to discharge into the recipient, it is necessary to consolidate. The choice of method depends on the purification of the type and the degree of contamination and the quality of treated water (degree of contamination of water allowed to be discharged into water recipients and capacity of the waterways).

Coagulants

Coagulants - Waste water containing suspended particles (bacteria, turbidity, staining) which are too small to be deposited. By simple filtration those suspended particles can not be removed.Next step is access to the coagulation process. Chemical compounds, which are used for the destabilization of the particles in the process water clarification are known as coagulants.

Flocculants

Flocculants - polyelectrolytes. Anionic and cationic. Can be a liquid or a powder. Used for waste water clarification - flotation and flocculation, thickening agents and dehydration of sludge. They are used for water purification.

Removing unpleasant odours

Removing unpleasant odours - an indicator of water quality is unpleasant odor. Odors are removed by microbiological and physic-chemical purification of the water.
